Is my son too young to start?

We have k-8th graders in our program.  If you are K or 1st, then the best place to start is either through our clinics, or through one of our seasons.  K-1st graders learn skills…skills that will allow them to play games and compete as they get older.  We use fun games during their “practice” time to make it fun, create competition, and teach the basic skill needed to compete in the game of lacrosse.

Is my son too old to start?

We get this question from parents with kids as young as 10, but mostly middle schoolers.  The answer is, there are many lacrosse players who don't even pick up a stick until well into their high school years. Every year we see 5-10 new players at each age group, who begin to feel competitive with their peers during their first season. It just takes signing up and showing up!

Where do we Start?

Lacrosse clubs across the valley are always opening up free, introductory clinics to help introduce new players to this great sport, and we are no different!

The town of Gilbert also runs introductory clinics for a low cost, with no equipment required.

House Leagues are another great way to get started with typically no equipment needed. These mini leagues are usually non-contact, and are a great way for kids to get a feel for the game in a 'sprint' format that's welcoming to newer players.

What is Lacrosse?

Lacrosse is a sport originally founded by Native Americans, that has been developed into an internationally recognized sport. It ranges from youth leagues, to high schools, colleges in the NCAA, and even a professional sport nationally broadcast on ESPN.

Where can we play?

Lacrosse in Arizona is driven by regional boundaries. These boundaries are tied to school districts and feeding into High School programs, which are primarily based on school districts. Check out the interactive boundary map- chances are you're in the right spot; but no worries if you're not! We have great relationships with the neighboring clubs and can help you get acquainted.

Lacrosse in High School?

Lacrosse in Arizona is a club at the high school (similar to debate or NJHS), but it runs similar to a sanctioned AIA sport. Youth programs will generally align to High School programs, to feed their High School programs. In the east Valley, we are currently fortunate enough to have 2 options for players moving on to High School. These competitive High School programs offer players the chance to play for State Titles, All-State nominations, and even college recruiting and scholarships!
